Township Board

Blue Lake Township government is conducted by a township board consisting of five members. The officers of the board are the Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer and Trustees. The Township Board performs both Legislative and Administrative capacities.

In its Legislative capacity the board may adopt ordinances for the regulation the public health, safety and general welfare of persons and property as authorized by State Law. In its Administrative capacity the board adopts an annual budget and appropriates money for Township operations and capital expenditures.

Blue Lake Township maintains and operates a Fire Department and has its own Zoning Ordinance and administration.

The Blue Lake Township Board meets the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Township Hall. As of August 2022, all August meetings will be held the first Saturday of the month at 10:00 am at the Township Hall. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Accomplishments 2025

• Zoom Meetings in place as of February 2025
• All Township Board meetings will be available on Zoom going forward.  The Zoom Link's are embedded in the Agenda for each meeting.
• Township Finances page updated with more recent information
• The baseline Financial information is posted on the Finance page.  This page will be updated monthly with financial statements and annually with budget information.
• Speed Limit Enforceable
• Previously, it has been stated that the Speed Limits in Blue Lake Township were not enforceable.  Supervisor Fletemier found in files from 2000 and 2002  Traffic Control Orders passed at the time, which formally and correctly established the Speed limits.  Sheriff Whiteford has approved these, the current signs have been validated as being in the correct location, allowing for enforcement as of February 26, 2025.
